What Makes a Good Learner?

Welcome to my Year 2 learning blog. This year I am in Room 10 and my teachers are Mrs Somaratne and Mrs Strachan. I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.

Adding to 10

I am learning to write number sentences to 10.  I use the number line to help me count on.  I am working towards trying to do this in my head.

"I know 4 + 6 = 10 because I used the number line." said Abrielle

Phonics

We are learning to listen and record the sounds we can hear.  We are able to blend the sounds altogether.  We can use our phonics at Story writing and Reading time to help us.

" I can write words by myself because we robot them at Story writing, Phonics and Reading" said Abrielle

Making Pizza

We made pizza as a class, using ingredients that we had grown ourselves. 

These photos show the writing process. We started with the 'draft stage', where students try to use the skills they have been taught. After 'conferencing' with the teacher and 'editing', they produce the 'published work' for their audience to enjoy.

Paper bear

We learnt how to draw a teddy bear looking at the different shapes that make up the head and arms. We wrote about our bear and published it onto a paper bag.
